Camera Settings and what they each do

I own a Cannon T3i... The first setting you want to get familiar with is the Av setting. Av is the setting that I use for portraits. With this setting you can focus on your clients or object you are photographing and the background will be blurred. The next setting you should learn is the Tv setting. Tv can be used when photographing sporting events or dances. I have also used this setting for a wedding as the bridal party comes down the aisle. P is for program it is an auto setting so the camera will control the shutter speed and aperture. When you are ready and have mastered these two settings you can move on to the M setting which is manual. In manual you will have the freedom to set the shutter speed and aperture on your camera. A-DEP is the setting used for automatic depth-of-field. This means the foreground and background are in focus.
